Pinned Address

We just got back from North Dakota. When my husband and I go on roadtrips, we listen to audiobooks to make the miles of highway go by faster. As I frequently do, I connected my phone to carplay. This enables my maps and audio to be integrated. Today, I've noticed that the address that was "pinned" was my daughter's apartment.

A year ago, we took our last child to college and she put the address into our navigation system. Possibly hoping that I wouldn't forget where she lived or her, she made her address a favorite. In doing so, I was an unsuspecting parent and now have for the past year seen her address every time I connected my phone. She is my baby girl and smiled when I saw that her address was my destination.

Today, she is packing her belongings and moving. I really needed to change that setting in my phone because she would no longer be living there. As I unpinned her address I felt a ting of sadness, but knew this was a great example of a life lesson I learned today that had to be shared!

It is my hope that we take time to put things in focus, that is why I have started this blog. Take a moment to reflect on these questions from this lesson.

What have you created as our desired location? What do you pin as our favorites? Whether it is school, work, faith, or a hobby we are certainly focused on something.

What is your ultimate goal and what do you hope to achieve?

In the busyness of life, do we forget the "pinned" address or do we intentionally set it as our destination?

My goal is to share with you the lessons from everyday events that point me in the direction that I am intended to go. I hope you stop by from time to time to take with you a lesson or two that helps you on this journey called life.
